  • ATB Weltzheim, LLC is located in Weltzheim, approximately 40km east of Stuttgart, Germany. The factory was established in 1938 by Gottlob Bauknecht to produce a full range of electric motors. The ATB consists of Austrian and German-driven technology and the initials of the founder's first name.

    ATB Spielberg, LLC is located in Spielberg, about 60km west of Graz, Austria. The plant began production of electric motors in 1974 under G.Bauknecht.

    After ATB was acquired by Wolong, it currently has three factories in China, including Shangyu factory in Shaoxing, Wuhan factory in Hubei province and Nanyang ATB factory.

    ATB independently developed and produced drive control integrated, high performance, high reliability of EC motor and EC fan module, motor series models including EM48, EM56, EC112, EC132, fan series including forward centrifugal fan, backward centrifugal fan, internal rotor motor axial flow fan, , with a wide range of applications. At present, EC products are mainly produced in Shangyu factory,  and other factories produce a variety of different motors according to customer requirements. three-phase asynchronous motor, single-phase motor, explosion-proof motor, brake motor, spindle motor,permanent magnet motor, compact driver, and various industrial motors,mainly used in frame sizes 56 up to 280 for pump, ventilators, mixers, compressors and grinders, etc.

     2001- A-TEC Industries AG acquired ATB Group, and then ATB Engine Technology Co. (formerly FG), ATB Technology Co. (formerly Thien), ATB SELNISAS of France, ATB Morley Ltd. of Britain, ATB Sever Holdings International of Serbia, and ATB China Shanghai Limited

    Brand development history

    1904 - Ernest Brook made his first motor in Huddersfield, UK in 1904 forming Brook Motors, whilst Colonel Crompton had earlier formed R.E.B. Crompton & Co in 1878. The two organisations came together under the ownership of Hawker Siddeley Group in the 1970s to form the company that is now recognised the world over as Brook Crompton

    1958 - Establishing its first facility in North America in 1958, Brook Crompton opened in Toronto, Canada, followed by further operations in the USA and the introduction of products specifically designed for the local market.

    1987 - Growth through acquisition followed and Brook Crompton today incorporates many well know names from the history of UK electric motor production including Brook Motors, Crompton Parkinson, Electrodrives (itself including AEI and English Electric), Newman and Hawker Siddeley Electric Motors.

    The company produces different kinds of explosion-proof motors, standard motors, generators, etc. which are widley used in oil&gas, power, chemical, coal and coal-to-oil, marine industry and other fields. And it suppies the products for many national key products.
    The company joined the Wolong Group in 2015.

    1970 - May 30th (in the war preparation needs) the first Ministry of Machinery Industry set up a motor factory in Nanyang, Henan

    1973 - China's first high-voltage medium-sized explosion-proof motor developed

    1989 - CNE brand YB132-280 flameproof three-phase asynchronous motor won the National Quality Award Silver Award

    1999 - The company implemented the 'Great 40 Project' and developed the first TAW4000kW-20P,increased safety brushless excitation synchronous motor in China. 

    2003 - The company implemented the '3F project' and successfully developed four steam turbine generators. The steam turbine generators have become a new economic growth point for Nanfang Group

    2009 - The 4P hidden-pole synchronous generator developed by the group company was successfully completed. The generator has filled the domestic blank. The 35MW generator is the largest 4P hidden-pole laminated generator in China.

    2009 - The company successfully developed a series of nuclear-grade motors for nuclear power plants

    2009 - Wen Jiabao, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, visited the Nanfang Group to inspect, "I hope that the explosion-proof motor of the Nanfang Group will always be in a leading position", and encourage the Nanfang Group to "continue to create a world famous brand"

    2014 - The company won the global 'SEAD International Efficiency Medal'  in the third SEAD Global Ultra-Efficient Motor Energy Efficiency Competition, which has stood out from the fierce competition of more than 30 motor manufacturers worldwide.

    2015 - Wolong Electric Nanyang Explosion-proof Group successfully won the bid for the research and development of the main pump motor and pump control system of the fourth-generation fast reactor, with a winning bid of RMB 115.2 million.

    2015 - Wolong Electric Nanyang Explosion-Proof Group successfully developed the largest domestic model and maximum load capacity N0.40 coal mine counter-rotating main fan

    2015 - Joined Wolong Group and successfully achieved strategic cooperation

    2016 - The emerging market business is growing rapidly, and the total volume of emerging markets such as nuclear, oil and gas, electricity and exports is growing rapidly.


  • The company originally manufactured generators and motors, but soon also started producing devices and components for all aspects of electricity supply. In recent years ATB Laurence Scott Ltd. has been focusing on the oil and gas industries. ATB Laurence Scott’s reference list is long and constantly growing. The company has thus established itself as a reliable partner in the field of highly complex motors for use in hazardous areas and protection zones as well as for applications with low-current starting.

    Company founder William H. Scott pioneered the development of welded steel frame construction, variable speed motors, control gear and motors with low starting current and high torque for special applications. The company became greatly involved in the initial development of various highly specialised motor models for specific project applications in the United Kingdom’s first nuclear power stations, many of which are still in operation today.

    1887 - Mr R. Laurence invest £6000 into the business and the company becomes Laurence and Scott Ltd shortly afterward.

    1929 - The company acquire Electromotors Ltd and become Laurence, Scott and Electromotors Ltd.

    1980 - Mining Supplies acquires LSE. This now includes facilities in Wolverhampton and Manchester

    2007 - ATB Morley Ltd acquire LSE and rename it ATB Laurence Scott Ltd

    2015 - ATB Morley and ATB Laurence Scott merged together with ATB Special Products to form ATB Group UK Ltd




  • In the nearly 130 years of development history, Morley has been linked to the underground coal mining business. In the early days, the company provided equipment supply for British coal, but with the demise of the UK market, the company began exporting products to China, Australia, the United States and Russia.

    2000 - In September 2000 the company was acquired from its parent by the management team & LDC. Having seen the demise of the UK domestic mining market, Morley started to focus on the international mining Market.

    2004 - The company was acquired by its present owner - ATB Austria Antriebstechnik AG. ATB is a major international group that is focused on electrical motors & drive systems’

    2007 - Morley acquires David McClure, VCW and Laurence Scott

    2019 - Acquisition of COVIBRA. With a view to continuous growth and expansion, OLI acquires Covibra, company specialized in the production of high frequency pneumatic vibrators, thus completing the already rich concrete consolidation division.
